Amazing! Staroon get the certification of STeP by Oeko-Tex As a Sustainability and Green Practitioner

What is STeP by Oeko-Tex®?

Step by Oeko-Tex is an independent certification system for companies in the textile chain who wish to analyse, certify and optimise their production sites with regard to sustainable and socially responsible production conditions.

STeP stands for Sustainable Textile Production and is a worldwide certification system for environmentally friendly and socially responsible production facilities in the textile industry. The certification is carried out by the Hohenstein Institute, owner of the OEKO-TEX® brand, which was founded in 1992 to set new standards of textile production, limiting the use of potentially harmful chemicals.

Benefits for producers

STeP recognises certifications from other companies. You can significantly reduce the costs of certification by including services and certificates already issued (e.g. BSCI, FWF, SA8000, ISO 14001, ISO 9001).

Strengthen your economic situation and competitiveness: STeP promotes efficiency in production processes and improves the social and environmental conditions in your company. With the STeP final report, you receive an action plan tailored to your individual requirements.

Distinguish yourself as a producer to brands and retail companies who have demanding requirements with regard to environmental protection and social responsibility. The STeP certification system enables you to have transparent public communication of your commitment in the field of sustainable production conditions.

Benefit from an improved image which enables you to enter new markets and forge new supplier relationships. The independent STeP certification imparts a high level of credibility and trust and gives you targeted support on your path to greater sustainability.

Determine the fulfilment status of the DETOX campaign goals of Greenpeace and your ZDHC engagement. The independent verification system DETOX TO ZERO by OEKO-TEX®, which concerns the gradual optimisation and extended monitoring of chemicals management and waste management, is part of STeP.

Is Oeko-Tex eco friendly?

MADE IN GREEN overview. MADE IN GREEN by OEKO-TEX® is a traceable product label for all kinds of textiles and leather products that have been manufactured in environmentally friendly facilities under safe and socially responsible working conditions.

What does it mean when it says made in green?

With the MADE IN GREEN label, you can prove to brands that your products have been tested for harmful substances and that they have been manufactured under sustainable and socially responsible conditions.

Validity

The STeP certificate is issued after a production facility has been successfully audited and is valid for three years. This period can always be extended for an additional three years following successful re-certification. If problems are identified at any point during the certification process, a STeP by OEKO-TEX® certificate may be revoked.
